Im sure a majority of people (at least those who will bother to read this) have heard of the Virginia Tech. Massacre. For those who haven’t I will attempt to briefly outline the event.
16 April 2007, a 23-year-old Korean man Cho Seung-Hui, murdered 32 people, injured 29 and then went on to commit suicide after what is being called “the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.” (wikipedia)
Up until today, I had ignored the fact that this man slaughtered so many unsuspecting people – not even wondering what could have caused this.
Then it occured to me – no human being kills for no reason… I guess thats my logic. So i searched a bit (online because news on TV as i have decided is useless) and came up with this, the most recent “discovery” i assume. My enlightenment came in a package that the murderer mailed to NBC. More shocking; the Postal Service time stamp showing that it had been mailed at a Virginia post office at 9:01 a.m. Monday, about an hour and 45 minutes after Cho first opened fire (he had stopped fire to send this package and then returned to continue). The package contained a video manifesto cosisting of 1,800 words and 43 photos of himself brandishing weapons.
You had a hundred billion chances and ways to have avoided today… But you decided to spill my blood. You forced me into a corner and gave me only one option. The decision was yours. Now you have blood on your hands that will never wash off.
How does one man become so completley detatched that, not only does he resort to murder and suicide, but also pre-meditates a video giving reasons?
You have vandalized my heart, raped my soul and torched my conscience… You thought it was one pathetic boy’s life you were extinguishing. Thanks to you, I die like Jesus Christ, to inspire generations of the weak and the defenseless people.
A fourth year english major with a point to prove, i wonder if, in his eyes, his life and the lives of 32 others was a just price to pay for 1,800 words and 43 photos of fame.

Do you realise that your take probably has more depth then the TV news networks who everyone takes up the ass – i.e. as gospel?
And you know our MSN conversation about introverts and extroverts – with reagrd to this event, you will find this interesting.

he was an introvert hey… well now THAT explains it!!! hahahaha i bet he was the same type as you… no… im being sarcastic of course.
It amazing how people can milk a situation for everything its worth “WAS IT LIKE A MOVIE” (yes someone actually said that… and yes… it was an american)
They highlight the key issue wrongly; saying its his personality that led him to this, but the key issue is the deaths.
Moronic.

You’re forgetting one point.
ISHMAEL.
He wrote it on his arm before commiting suicide, and sent the letter to the TV station under this name.
There are WAY too many different Ishmaels in history to discuss them all.
If you go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ishmael you can check out the 1st one that popped up in Wikipedia. Or check out the disambiguation to see them all.
It says, among other things, it means, “God will hear” in Hebrew.
It also says, according to Mesopotamian Law, he was the son of…Sarah.
Ooh, freaky.

That is spookkyyyy.
I didnt know it said Ishmael. I read in the newspaper that he wrote something on his arm… but the word i read wasnt that. Makes more sense tho. And yes on the site i got my information from it did say he sent the package under the same name as scrawled on his arm.
“God will hear” – its fitting right… someone gets picked on a little they turn to god… someone gets picked on too much they turn to murder and suicide??

Because, evidently, getting picked on a little and turning to God didn’t solve their problem.

Seriously [
] – In my belief someone who does something like this – AND takes the time to send a package of PHOTOS of himself holding guns and hammers etc… it cannot be bullying that got him to where he was… closer to insanity.

mmmm… do u know whats really funny, everyone across America is yet again scared of a ‘possible’ killer , wowowowowow, the fasination with people saying ‘omg i sat next to him in classs!!!!!, how could i not know’. Come on! are we that interested in the [person or the inncident at hand, like for one America is talking sooo much about how an ‘insane’ person was allowed to get a gun. mmm… lets see IT FUCK STATES IT IN UR CONSTITUTION!!!!!! or the fact that ‘why didn’t the authorities step in before now’ mmmm… well i think the real problem is that everyone within a america being a ‘human right’ is allowed to ‘bare arms’. ding ding!!!! I think we found the problem. This isn’t an uncommon inncident, there have been six of these ‘incidents’ in the last few years, so to continuely be shocked by this is only the stupidity of America. i know how about u fuckn’ try and fix ur fuckn’ system, maybe having tighter hold on the accessiblity of guns (so u can’t just go into kmart and pick a gun up!!!) mmm… sounds stupid, but really i’m gonna blame America for the killing of 30 American students, their fuckn’ Bill of Rights is wrongly justifying the human rights of other, how about the ‘right to life’ or is right less important. mmmm… ponder that thought
Ok well although this was a horrible event and yes innocent people died at the expense of one man proving a point (which still remains unknown), i fell that America is held accountable for this
soooo fix ur damn priorities, patriotic views and actually give a fuck about the future !!! god i really dislike superior fucked up America..
thank u for listening, probaly doesn’t make sense (but it made sense when i was writing it)

Well, what can cause something close to insanity? Bullying? Probably.
It made perfect sense. Courtsey of legal studies, it is almost impossible to change a Bill of Rights. The right to bare arms was implemented at a point in history where it was deemed necessary, but is now obsolete. Even if it were easy to amend it, I’m sure hundreds of thousands of fucking red neck gun-totting stupid-ass Americans would be against the resulting referendum. So, in that regard they are kind of doomed.
It doesn’t help that the media emphasises it as if it were some kind of competition – competing for the highest death toll.

I know that the bill of rights was written mmm.. well when they gained independence, its true they are all dommed and i agree that the likeyhood of them voting against their baring of arms, would never happen coz of their fucked up ’superior’ morals pft, god if theres on country i hate its America (sorry that was mean, but its true)… And Australia is right up their fuckn’ arse. God haven’t we figured it out already that America’s economic status is dying. The next ’super power’ is bound to be China, why not get up their arse (hahaha) meh, well that was a little off the topic, but i surely agree.
luv MAL!!!!!!!

Mason, i found this blog, which i was going to link but didnt have time and now i cant find it again
, that was talking about how he was clinically insane (mentally unstable…whatever) and that he had been kicked out of class before for being violent etc etc – sounds like he bullies others. You dont bully someone your scared of – fuck his personality type – he was insane – and yet no-one did ANYTHING to stop him from getting a gun. not just one gun, but two.
You know mals on a roll when all her sentences are blended into one and you have to decode what shes saying. But other than that, its a good point (america is a great topic for anger right mal?)
Once again – back to the ideal that people will learn from mistakes – yet america will still make weapons so readily available. Why? i have absolutley no idea, what im more concerned with is the fact that this country will let so many die (in more than one incident) and still not try to make a difference – not even attempt.
Questionable wether they really care at all (which im sure they do, even if its only a little bit) – or its all really for the publicity.

Pity about the linkage, but no worries.
Decode is definitely the right word for it, but the point gets across regardless. What can’t you rant about America with? The list of rantables is endless.
They are readily available because a) it is against their Bill of Rights to no have access to them, which means b) $$$$.
They don’t precisely let them die, although, it’s not far from doing so. The reasoning is that private property is valued more highly than human life. Moreover, the US social services are virtually non-existent when compared to ours (unless you’re absolutely loaded of course). Social services cutbacks are imperialist war funds.
The media obviously does not care. Sure, for the most part, the people that form the media care, but the corporate body that is created cannot function with morals or kindness. Profit, market share, and return on investment is the name of the game.
